Ouch!

Audrey sustained her first major ouey today and it was not fun. She has fallen and had a few bruises before but there was never any blood or serious crying till today. She was playing near the dining room table, grabbed a hold of one of the chairs and pulled it down on top of her. It hit her in the face and she fell to the floor. I scooped her up and she was hysterical. I was too of course. I held her close and then looked at her to see if she was OK. I noticed her face had blood all over her cheeks, nose and mouth and it freaked me out! I couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from and Scott came over to help. As it turns out, it was her lip...her very fat lip :( It was so sad. I tried to ice it, but she was not really into that. We took her and her fat lip to Nordstrom Cafe for lunch, got her a balloon and a big pink cookie; the cure for all injuries.

Tea Party

Audrey and I had a date last Friday with our friend the McGhee's. Audrey was so excited to have a play date with Shay, Lindsey and little Morrigan. Shay decided to throw a little tea party for them and it was awesome! She served up some yummy treats and Audrey was in heaven. It was so cute to see them all at the table eating and enjoying themselves. Shay set the table and made everything a surprise, it was really sweet! We had so much fun and we look forward to our next visit.

Family Time

We had a great visit with Audrey's aunt Sandy and her two daughters, Alexandra and Naomi. Audrey was so excited to spend time with them and we all had a blast together! We enjoyed a beach day since the weather was amazing during their visit, and Audrey really bonded with the girls too. She asked about seeing her cousins every day and it was so sad to see them leave. We realize how important it is for her to be surrounded by family as she truly enjoys it. Scott and I were able to eat our dinner, since Alexandra was taking care of her and keeping her entertained; it was nice. We look forward to their next visit, or when they move back, (hint, hint.)

LA-cation

We have been going up to LA from time to time to do castings for Audrey. Recently Scott took a few days off from work and we went up and stayed overnight at Hotel Palomar, thanks to our friend Lisa. The hotel is amazing and so was our stay. The staff was VERY sweet and it was by far the most kid-friendly hotel we have ever visited. When we arrived, the front desk staff took out a basket of toys and offered one to Audrey; very impressive! We went up to our room and then decided to go down for a complimentary glass of vino. We weren't sure if we could bring Audrey in to the restaurant, so we started to go back to the elevator and ran into Lisa. She said Audrey is welcome, even if she was in her feetey pajamas, so we had some wine and Audrey enjoyed a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie. They really made her feel like a little princess. We all had a great night of sleep and look forward to visiting Hotel Palomar again soon.

long time, no blog

It has been a month since I have done any postings about life with Audrey. I feel so bad, but we have been busy with friends, family, house hunting, talking about more kids, etc. Audrey is almost 2 and she is changing so fast. I can't believe how much she has grown. She talks all the time about EVERYTHING! What she likes, how things sound, what color they are and so on. It's really great and we are so proud of her. Being at home has been great! It is challenging most days, but fun too. I made a promise to myself to try and blog daily, rather than weekly or monthly. We are looking forward to Audrey's 2nd Birthday and Easter. I have included some photos of her first haircut too...so cute!

decisions, decisions

The Fisk family has been busy with house hunting, trying to decide on what I will do when I return to work, expanding our family, etc. These last few weeks have been a little busy and stressful. So many things we want to do and it feels like time goes by so fast. Audrey is growing up and she'll be 2 at the end of March. Her vocabulary is amazing and she surprises us with new words and phrases daily. Some of my new favorites are, "where's daddy go?" (She says this after Scott goes to work, or the restroom.) She always gets a little impatient when Scott leaves the room and takes more than a second to return. I also love when she says, "look mommy, flowers", and "its beautiful mommy.” She is just an amazing kid! She is so sweet with other kids too, and I am so proud of that. We have met a few new friends and we're enjoying more play dates and girl time. As Audrey grows, we are trying to get her to make decisions too; like what she would like to wear (I give her 2 options.) This is sort of backfiring on me since she keeps choosing her feetey pajamas, which isn't even one of the options. I'll keep trying.

a perfect day

We celebrated Valentine's day as a family and it was an amazing day. We started at Con Pane and surprised Audrey with a chocolate bread bear. They do these bears every year and it was a perfect gift for her. By the end of our breakfast, the bear was completely destroyed. We went to Liberty Station park to swing, slide and just have fun. It's a beautiful park and the weather was incredible. We went to the Farmer's market and Audrey got her first painted tattoo of Elmo. She LOVES Elmo! Later, we enjoyed a picnic in Solana Beach and it was a great way to end our Valentine's celebration.

I included some photos of Audrey's bear and one of my favorite photos of her.
